I have loved animals all my life, and for over 25 years now I have successfully owned and raised many different species. Then, 15 years ago, I bought my first puppy...a sable and white Border Collie and it was literally 'Puppy Love'. He was named Elmo and was only three weeks old the first time we met, and at six weeks I brought him home. It was at that point I knew I was 'hooked'...dogs were going to part of my life forever.

For about two and a half years, I was employed as a receptionist in the veterinary field, where I had the privilege of meeting many fabulous pets and their humans. I loved every minute of it!

I decided in 1997 that I wanted to pursue the 'dog world' full force. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with one of the most beautiful people I have ever met, Donna Conroy...she owned a dog training facility in my area where I attended classes at, with my two K9 kids. She quickly became my mentor because of her positive training techniques and uplifting personality. I apprenticed with her for about 6 months, but then tragically she was diagnosed with cancer and passed away shortly thereafter...it was a very sad time for me.

It has been my dream, since then, to continue Donna's training techniques in her memory, by becoming a dog trainer/behavioral consultant myself and to open my own training school. That is where the idea for Tails a Waggin' grew from.

This website has given me an GRRREAT chance to display my knowledge about dogs.
